As the name of the Bistro MD Diet Delivery suggests, marketers of this diet plan claim that it combines gourmet eating with the knowledge of an experienced doctor. It is a meal plan which was assembled by Dr. Caroline Cederquist, M.D. in conjunction with professional chefs and nutritionists. This doctor was also the author of another book called “The Honest Diet for Busy Women” and has been working in the weight management field for more than a decade and claims that she has assisted thousands of individuals with weight loss based on the Bistro MD Diet Delivery plan.

The meals for the Bistro MD Diet Delivery plan must be ordered so that they can be delivered directly to the home. They are advertised as being restaurant quality and are cooked freshly by a professional chef who then vacuum packs and freezes them. According to the marketers for this diet plan, the freshness, flavors, and textures are all well preserved this way. They also claim that people who struggle with meals provided by other diet plans enjoy the foods with Bistro MD Diet Delivery. Every day includes three meals and two snacks that are, according to the marketers, sufficient to avoid hunger among dieters. That said, the day’s food consumption consists of only 1,200 calories.

PROS

Benefits of the plan include the fact that the food is prepared for you. This saves time and eliminates the need to count calories or balance nutrients and macronutrients. The plan also has a large menu which means that while every meal is delivered to the door, there is no repetition for six full weeks. Depending on the regular food and brand purchases made by the dieter and the quantity that is typically consumed, this may be a more economical choice than regular grocery shopping.

CONS

The drawbacks of the plan, on the other hand, are that there is no choice as to how much you can eat. The portions are strictly controlled and that is all that is permitted. Furthermore, there is no maintenance plan after the weight loss is over. Participants don’t learn how to properly prepare meals that are conducive to losing weight or keeping it off and they do not have support to help prevent the weight from coming back. The only form of “maintenance” would be to remain on the plan indefinitely.

The cost of Bistro MD Diet Delivery is about $20 per day. It is less expensive than some plans but more expensive than what many people spend on their daily grocery bill. It is recommended that a doctor be consulted before beginning this or any other diet plan that changes eating habits and daily caloric intake.

I will say that the food on the Bistro MD diet is great! I have been on both Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig and the food you get with those two is less then appealing. The meals are very convenient, are healthy, and it’s easy to stick to. I have lost 18 pounds and feel a lot better about myself and I am motivated to lose another 10.

I totally agree with this and I am well on my way to losing the 80 lbs I need to shed. I would say 80-90% of the food tastes really great. I always said if someone else did all the cooking for me, I would just eat what I was given and be able to lose weight. It’s a lot easier to stick to a diet when you have it all done for you so it’s idiot proofed. So far I have lost 30 lbs and I am pretty happy with it.

That’s incredible! I’d be proud after losing 30, but I really hope that you’ve gone on to lose the rest of the eighty that was your goal. I’ve lost twelve and I’m feeling pretty good about it. I’d say four out of every five meals from Bistro MD is great tasting. The other ones aren’t lousy, they’re just not anything to write home about. Not bad for a program where you don’t have to do any cooking!

This plan has good and bad sides. I found that I liked the food very much. I’ve tried other delivery plans and the meals in this one taste good instead of odd and bland. There’s a good variety, too. It made life very easy. But the portions were very small. I think that because I was obese, they were probably too small for my personal needs. I needed to cut back more gradually. Also, for what you get, it’s VERY expensive. So it’s a really good program if you are ready for the portion size and the price tag.

You do make a point that the portions are very small, but I didn’t find them any smaller than other meal delivery diets that I’ve tried. You’re right about the $ though.

The portions are small but if you do it with an appetite suppressant that works, you’re really never hungry. I found it a bit on the pricy side, but that’s the cost of getting my weight down quickly and with the ease of being able to order all of your meals pre-prepared. It isn’t cheap to order take-out every night, after all 😉

I like the convinience and practicality of this diet. All my food arrived well packaged and frozen. The customer service was good too. The food was well labled and most stuff is microwaveable. For me the the best dishes were pork tenderloin with apple sauce and the spinach/feta stuffed chicken. The one I would not eat again is the butternut squash puree but for the most part the food is quite good.

I couldn’t agree with you more about the butternut squash puree. I can’t believe it’s still on the menu when all of the rest of the food is a full level above it (or more). This is a quality program with quality food, but it’s surprising that an item like this one can slip through the cracks. it tastes bland and not quite right. In terms of the foods I do like – which includes most of them – I was stunned at how good the berry crepe was. I never though that would be a re-heatable food. The grilled chicken with roasted red pepper sauce is my favorite dinner right now.

Convenience was the absolute dream part of the Bistro MD diet. It had awesome customer service. Whenever you talk to them over email or even on the phone or the delivery, the people are extremely knowledgeable and can help you with absolutely any of your questions. They’ve even tried the foods and have opinions about it, which is really helpful before you try something new. The taste of the food was really important to me since I was getting so little food in a day (compared to my usual piggish amount) so it was great to get info and an opinion before making my final decision.

I wish I could afford this plan! $20 per day is just too far over my budget. This is such a shame, because I think it looks really great!

I absolutely love Bistro MD. The food is amazing and although it’s a bit on the expensive side, it’s perfectly reasonable when you think about everything that goes into it, including the preparation and the delivery. I was given three months of this as an amazing Christmas present and I couldn’t be happier with it!
