Living Low-Carb is a diet plan and book that comes from Fran McCullough, a cookbook editor and writer, who found that after struggling for years to lose weight, she discovered that the solution to her problems was a diet low in carbohydrates.

McCullough’s book is called “Living Low-Carb: The Complete Guide to Long-Term Low-Carb Dieting.” Within its pages, she tells readers what they need to know about the well known low-
carb diet plans, like Atkins, Paleo, etc, and how these diets can help lead to weight loss. She offers basic low-carb diet plans and provides recipes that cover everything from main dishes to desserts.

When following Living Low-Carb, you will need to watch what you eat and dramatically reduce your carb intake to between 0 and 30 grams per day.You limit your carbs based on how much weight you would to drop. You will need to avoid starchy white foods, such as rice, potatoes, flour, sugar, and bread. Protein is added to every meal. Followers of this diet are to eat around half a gram of protein for every pound of their ideal body weight, every day. For the average-sized individual, this amounts to anywhere from 60 to 85 grams, daily. Participants are also encouraged to choose healthy fats, such as avocado and olive oil and to eat whole foods that are raw and organic whenever possible, as well as drink plenty of water (8 to 12 ounce glasses), daily.

McCoullough’s book is written in a friendly way and is easy to follow, making it a pleasant read. She provides a collection of recipes to help make following her diet easier. She also has tips for traveling and tips for how to simplify grocery shopping.

Some studies have found that low-carb diets can lead to weight loss, and may result in faster weight loss for some people during the first year of following such a diet, compared to low-fat diets.

Living Low-Carb is not for everyone. Although diets that are low in carbohydrates can be beneficial for short-term weight loss, as a long-term weight loss program and maintenance plan, these diets may not be a safe fat loss solution.

Furthermore, Not only can it be a struggle due to the number of food restrictions, but this diet may not be safe for anyone who has kidney problems or kidney damage, as excess protein can overwork these organs. In addition, those who follow low carb diets tend to eat a limited number of whole gains and certain vegetables and fruits. Also, not all protein is good for your health.

Prior to taking part in this diet, you should first make certain that it is a safe choice for you and that it will be ideal for your weight loss goals. Consult your doctor.
