Frankel, who is a New York Times bestseller and author or other self-help books, explains that if you want to live a healthier lifestyle, you can do it by following her ten Skinnygirl rules. These are the rules on which her Naturally Thin diet is based.

Three of these rules include:

Your Diet is a Bank Account – Like balancing spending and savings, you need to balance the food choices you make. This means balancing fruits and vegetables with sweets, balancing starches with proteins, etc. It’s also about balancing “splurges with saves”. For instance, if you eat a piece of cake, later on, you can save on calories by eating a salad.

Taste Everything, Eat Nothing – Taste a little bit of great tasting foods, but never eat too much of one thing.

Downsize Now! – Eat smaller portions.

Essentially, Naturally Thin focuses on helping you enjoy your favorite foods, but just in smaller amounts. More specifically, when following this plan you will be encouraged to eat lean proteins, whole grains, and up your vegetable consumption. Frankel also recommends that, whenever possible, those who follow her plan should choose organic foods and foods that are locally grown including vegetables, fruits, chicken, beef, and whole grains. While no food is technically off limits, packaged and processed foods should be avoided.

Pros

The Naturally Thin diet makes a lot of sense and, due to no foods being off limits, it shouldn’t be too hard or unreasonable for most people to follow. While you are encouraged to avoid processed and packaged foods, basically, as long as you control your potions sizes and choose healthy foods for the majority of the time, you won’t have a problem following this plan.

Furthermore, Frankel provides over 30 different recipes in her book, as well as helpful tips for following her plan. The book can easily be found online for under $15 and is all you need to follow the diet plan, aside from what you would typically spend on groceries.  Following the diet, and incorporating a high quality appetite suppressant or diet pill for women, may be an effective route to weight loss for some.

Cons

One drawback of Naturally Thin is that if you were to follow the plan as instructed, you may eat fewer than the healthy daily amount of calories that you require. Eating less than 1,200 calories without doctor supervision can be bad for your health.

Those who will have the most success with this diet are those who are willing to closely monitor and count the number of calories in the foods they eat. While controlling portion sizes can help prevent over-eating, you still need to pay close attention to the food you’re eating and make sure that what you ingest is not only healthy, but sufficient.

Before trying this diet, you should first speak with your healthcare provider. When it comes to choosing a diet for weight loss it is wiser to consult with and trust the advice given to you by a medical expert than to simply rely on advice from a television celebrity.
