Protein Power is the low-carb, high-protein diet and bestselling book from authors Michael R. Eades, MD and Mary Dan Eades, MD., who are also husband and wife. According to the authors, their diet plan will help you “Lose Weight, Feel Fit and Boost your Health – in just weeks!”

In essence, Protein Power is a diet that focuses on an eating plan that is low in carbohydrates and high in protein. It provides followers with plenty of scientific explanations about the primary hormones responsible for turning food into energy in our body, insulin and glucagons. The idea behind the diet is that by restricting carbohydrates, a person will reduce their insulin level. This will result in the body producing more glucagon, which aids in the burning of stored fat. According to the doctors, repeatedly doing this over a long period of time will help melt the fat away.
