Vitabase Fat Blocker is a weight loss supplement from nutritional supplement company, Vitabse. Its purpose is to prevent the body from absorbing and storing ingested fat. In addition to blocking fat, it is designed to stop the absorption of some food sugar. Also, this product contains fiber, which promotes feelings of fullness that can lead to a decrease in appetite. The combination of blocking fat and sugar, as well as reduced feelings of hunger, can help encourage weight loss.

The ingredients in the Vitabase Fat Blocker formula are: Chitosan, Garcinia Cambogia, Gymnema Sylvestre, Vitamin C, and Vitamin B2. Additional ingredients include: Croscarmellose Sodium, Di-calcium Phosphate, Magnesium Stearate, Silicon Dioxide, Stearic Acid, and Vitamin B-2.

The ingredients in Vitabase Fat Blocker have been selected to provide specific effects. For instance, vitamin C helps to boost the immune system and vitamin B2 can help boost metabolism. However, there isn’t enough vitamin C in the product to provide any real benefit and Vitamin B2 does not last long in the body. Gymnema sylvestre may aid in hunger control by assisting in the regulation of blood glucose levels. Garcinia cambogia, which contains a compound called hydroxycitric acid, or HCA, has a stimulant effect that gives it fat burning potential, and chitosan was selected for blocking fat and sugar and to help with appetite suppression.

For “maximum effectiveness”, users are instructed to take 1 or 2 tablets 30 minutes prior to meals. No more than 6 tablets should be taken per day.

This product is sold on the official Vitabse website, and all of the ingredients of the supplement are listed and are easy to find. There are no additional additives or preservatives in the ingredients. Chitosan may provide the dieter with a feeling of fullness, which could help them control their appetite and potentially be beneficial for weight loss. Vitabase does provide guidelines for suggested use and recommends that the fat blocker should be used in combination with a “sensible diet and exercise program”. The site also provides consumers with warnings about the product, including who should not take the product, as well as an allergen warning regarding shellfish derivatives.

There is no clinical evidence that Vitabase Fat Blocker is effective for weight loss. There are no studies to backup the claims that this product actually works. It does not contain any proven fat burners, as there is no proof that chitosan will block sugar or fat. In fact, since it is a source of fiber, chitosan is often considered to be a better appetite suppressant than a fat blocker. Fiber slows digestion and can act as a laxative. Therefore, this product may not only be ineffective, it may flush nutrients out of your body and cause dehydration if the user isn’t careful to drink sufficient water. Furthermore, one of the ingredients in the product formula, Garcinia cambogia, is a stimulant and has been linked to negative side effects, one of the more serious being liver damage.
