Xenical is a commonly recommended prescription diet pill that is manufactured by the pharmaceutical company, Roche. This drug is prescribed to individuals who are extremely overweight or obese and who have been struggling with weight loss and keeping off the weight that they lose. This is not a product that will be recommended for a cosmetic weight loss of a few pounds. Instead, it can only be prescribed to individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of thirty or higher and to people whose weight issues are combined with other health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and other heart problems.

The primary active ingredient in Xenical is Orlistat. There are several reputed clinical studies that demonstrate the positive effect of Xenical on weight loss. Xenical works by blocking up to a third of all fat consumed in food from being absorbed into the body. When using Xenical, the body of the patients will not absorb the excess fat and it is instead passed through the body and expelled with stool. It is important to take this drug as directed by the prescribing physician. This will usually mean that a nutritious diet that is lower in fat will be recommended, and an exercise regimen will be necessary for better results. Furthermore, a multivitamin will likely be suggested in order to boost the levels of nutrients that are absorbed by the body as fat-blocking drugs make it harder for fat-soluble vitamins and other types of nutrients to be absorbed.

Some potential side effects of Xenical – which can be worsened if the correct diet is not consumed – are headache, diarrhea, loose stool, anxiety, low blood sugar levels, excessive flatulence, trapped gas, and abdominal pain.

Advantages of using Xenical include the fact that it has been clinically studied using reputable clinical research techniques and has been found to be effective. It can also help to lose weight much more quickly than diet alone – especially among individuals who are significantly obese. A prescription is required for the use of this drug, increasing the chance of ensuring that it is the right drug for the user and that it will be properly used.

Disadvantages of the drug are that it is less convenient to purchase than a non-prescription drug as a doctor’s visit and approval is required. It is meant only for people who are very overweight or obese and is not prescribed to individuals who need to lose only a few pounds. Digestive discomforts are common among users of Xenical due to its fat-blocking properties.

Good posting! I already tried xenical myself and it really helps to lose weight. However, I think it’s too expensive but if you can use it, it’s a good product to help you achieve your weight loss goal.

You’re sure right about that! This works great but the $$$ makes it too hard to afford.

Do you have a drug plan? If you do, see if it will cover at least some of it. Mine will and that makes it a lot more affordable.

“Without any side effect”? Are you kidding me? For me gas with a leaky discharge, oily discharge and oily spotting at any given time is a pretty major side effect. You pretty much have to warn anyone that you are living with that you will be needing frequent trips to the bathroom and emergency bathroom privileges. (You don’t want to have any mishaps and have to throw out your brand new undies!) Also for them to plug their ears to spare them from the sounds of the “bombing.” Oh well at least you can wear an adult diaper, mow down on McDonalds and won’t feels so guilty about eating all that fat because you will be leaking and crapping it out for several hrs.

I couldn’t agree more. I think that it works great. It definitely does what it says it will and the weight loss is fast. But the side effects are really strong and they are definitely embarrassing if you have to be in public at all.

It works wonderfully to bind the fat in foods you eat but it is very expensive. ALso you must make sure you eat super healthy low-fat foods while taking this medication. If you choose to eat fatty foods, you will be blessed with a very unpleasant side effect. (Think about keeping an extra pair of underwear on your person at all times.) Xenical should be used to help you to learn to make low cal food choices, and not be used as a means to an end in itself. If used properly it is very effective, but if misused, be warned- it is very messy!

What I found crazy is that the leaky discharge is bright orange! All that aside, it was quite expensive, but does work if you use it properly. I lost 20 pounds with it in about 2 months.

Always have a bathroom around when you take Xenical.

With this, you really learn to cut the fat out of your diet because there are consequences. It really works, though! I lost around 15 pounds in just over two months.
